What learners often ask about Tako.
Is Tako JLPT free?
Yes. The whole app is currently free, with no ads.
Do I need an account?
Yes — an account (email or Google) saves your progress, review schedule and exam results so you can continue on any device.
Is Tako an official JLPT app?
No. Tako is independent and not affiliated with The Japan Foundation or JEES. Mock exams are original Tako exams in the JLPT format; scores are estimates for reference.
Can I study offline?
The interface opens offline, but lessons, exams and progress sync need an internet connection.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. Or see the Delete account page on the website.
I found a wrong answer key?
Thank you! Email us with the level, exam name and question number (a screenshot helps) and we will fix it quickly.
Which levels are covered?
N5, N4, N3, N2 and N1 — each with a roadmap, question-type drills, listening, flashcards and mock exams.
How are mock scores calculated?
Section scores are scaled proportionally (an estimate) and compared with each level's official pass marks, including sectional minimums.
