Where Tako JLPT's content comes from, who owns what, and how to request a takedown.
1. Original Tako content
- Source code, interface design, the Tako mascot, TAKO/JLPT logo, illustrations, study roadmaps, review algorithms, per-question-type tips, the 25 original Tako mock exams (N5–N1) and their explanations: © 2026 Nguyen Cong Tung. All rights reserved.
- Audio for the original Tako exams is generated with text-to-speech (TTS) technology.
2. Materials used under the operator's rights
Some video lessons, documents and drills labelled Dũng Mori are used under the operator's (Nguyen Cong Tung's) rights to these materials. They are being progressively replaced with original Tako lessons.
3. Third-party works and trademarks
- Minna no Nihongo (みんなの日本語) is a work and trademark of 3A Corporation. Some vocabulary lists, listening tracks and lesson ordering still reference it. Tako JLPT is not affiliated with 3A Corporation and claims no rights in that work; these parts are being replaced with original content.
- JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is administered by The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). The name is used only to describe the exam the app prepares for. Tako JLPT is not affiliated with them and contains none of their official test questions.
- OTAFF — practice content for the food-service Specified Skilled Worker test, written for review purposes; official names and materials belong to the test organiser.
- Fonts Be Vietnam Pro, Noto Sans JP (interface) and Baloo 2, M PLUS Rounded 1c (outlined in the logo) are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- The app currently uses no data from JMdict/EDICT, KANJIDIC, KanjiVG or Tatoeba. Any future use will be credited here with its licence.
